Prelimenary logo
Unfortunately it was at this stage that I realised that my Photoshop software was expired! So I transported my image to Paint.net to do a preliminary colouring of my logo to finalise in college tomorrow. This is what I'm hoping to make it look like.
Using my original colour pallette from my mood board, which were complimentary colours of red and green, I then went back to Adobe Color Wheel and used a monochromatic colour red palette for the sound level colours.

Logo pictogram work
I looked to see if there were any companies that used sound levels in their logos and the closest thing I could find was stock image with sound levels in the shape of an imcomplete circle. I then flipped this to look like the letter C. I based the rest of my logo work off this.

College Mood Board explanation
When I was brainstorming I wanted my college radio station to have 'personality' and be 'exciting'. I wrote down different ideas of what a potential college radio station should have and looked at the most popular college radio stations out there (the majority of them being in America because those colleges actually have a budget for it).
So for Ireland, I thought, students would only listen to a college radio station if it was different from other regular stations. I thought that would be what every college student wants - free stuff but also live music. That's why that's included in the mood board. Research done by a fellow student showed a ratio of 3 to 1 college students would prefer a mix of presenters and music over just music being played.
To get my colour scheme I used the CIT campus as inspiration - the red from the brickwork and green from the grass. I used an online colour wheel to confirm those colours were complimentary:
